Meet Trooper Ray!

Trooper was three in February and is looking for his forever home. He is an extremely affectionate dog who wants to be near you or in your lap. He loves to retrieve, is a great jumper and a fast learner.

This little guy is incredibly smart and playful but needs an experienced dog person because he will snap at strangers who reach for him. He is not aggressive but will try to bite defensively. If he approaches you then he can be petted but it is on his terms. He would do well with an obedience person. While in his foster home he has learned he is not alpha and is learning not to rush out open doors.

Trooper suffers from separation anxiety and must be crated when alone because when he is left on his own he will dump waste baskets, shred Kleenex, climb on anything he can reach and is very curious. He uses a door dog and is clean in the house. He has been known to take shoes or anything that will fit through the dog door and leave them outside. He would do best with a stay at home mom or dad.

Trooper is located in a foster home in Houston, Texas. He has had some obedience training as he knows novice commands. Trooper is housetrained, crate trained, neutered and heartworm negative. Up to date on shots. He was owner released. (Now I know why) He needs to stay in Houston.

If you would like more information, contact Marjorie Simon. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
