Thor is a one year old griffon who was a NYC dweller until recently. He came to rescue because his owner felt she didnít have enough time for him and because he can be snappy if he does not understand his role in his home and gets fearful.
Thorís foster mom writes:
Thor is a wonderful little griffon with all the traits we love. He follows us everywhere and is always where the action is. He is sweet and cuddly. He is a slightly dominant little dog who likes to lie on his foster mom and dad's chest or right next to their heads on the pillow. He will sometimes growl if someone vies for that position when he is in it. He loves to wrestle with the two other griffons in his foster home, and is learning his doggy manners from them. Thor could go to a home with a laid back cat but thinks that when a cat hisses the game is on, and the chase begins. We are trying to curb him of this habit, but this is also his first home with kittens and cats to run after. Thor is a rambunctious pup who needs a good amount of exercise or he can get mischievous.
Thor has been a prince to all the guests that have come into our home, but was a bit leary of strangers in his first two homes. Now when the other two dogs get excited to see new people he gets in on the action and loves to be petted and admired. He is very flexible, can jump really high, run fast as the wind and would probably excel at agility training. He also loves food so training should be a breeze.
Thor is pretty good on housebreaking and can be fairly dependable with wee wee pads. You should always expect there may be a few mistakes when a dog changes homes.
All in all he is a fabulous little guy with a winning personality, cute as a button and would do well in any home where there is some action and lots of love to go around. We will miss him and my year old male griffon will be devastated when his best buddy finds his forever home. They even curl up together like cats when he isn't lying on me.
Thor is up to date on vaccines and the local vet says he is a healthy guy. Thor weighs about 10 lbs. Thor is being fostered in Stamford, CT.
If you are
interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
