Meet Spirit!

Spirit is approximately 2 years old and weighs 11 pounds. She is very sweet, shy and timid until she gets to know you. You can tell at some point in her life she was well taken care of, but then she was abandoned. She has a difficult time trusting you -- any sudden movements make her run and hide. But with reassurance and kindness, Spirit is coming around.

Spirit has bonded with her foster dad and follows him everywhere, just as if she were his shadow. She is completely housebroken and knows commands like come and sit. She has never had an accident in the house.

Spirit sleeps in her foster parent's bedroom in a playpen on her foster dad's side of the bed. When morning comes she is very excited to see a new day and goes out to do her business, along with her other foster brother and sisters. Then she comes back in and waits for her morning treats. Spirit loves to run around the back yard and play chase with her foster brother and sisters.

Because she has had such a difficult time in trusting people, Spirit is looking for a "Forever Home" with no children and one where the family will pay a lot of attention to her, preferably a stay at home mom or dad, or maybe one who could take her to work. She is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, on preventative, microchipped, and spayed.

Spirit is located near Atlanta, Georgia.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Carol.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
