Spike is a very sweet, two-year-old, Belge rough male. He is neutered (as of 12/13/01) and has had all shots excepts rabies. He is heartworm negative.
Spike is not quite 9 1/2 pounds. He was very skinny when he arrived, and has some definite ideas about foods he does and doesn't like. He is housebroken and he loves going for walks. Spike thinks squirrels were put on the planet for him to chase. But he doesn't bark at them. He's a very quiet boy, even when he's playing with other dogs. He gets along great with other dogs and is learning how to play with toys, although he still doesn't understand "fetch."
Spike adores attention and likes learning new things - with some treats for motivation. He does have some neuroses to work on - he's got pretty bad separation anxiety, although he's fine as long as someone's home. He's as cute as he can possibly be, sweet as anything, and learning to expect love.
Spike is in the Chicago area.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application. For more information contact Margie.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
