Meet Punkin!

Hello, I am Punkin and I am so loving life after leaving that awful place where I lived for four years. I have learned so much in the short time I have been in my Foster Home: I know how to come when called; I do very well taking my business outside as long I am kept on a schedule. When I start to do my circles, that is when I need to go outside.

My leash training is coming along great--this is something I learned just last week. I really love to go on walks with my Foster Mother and since it has been real cold I get to wear a sweater.

Although I get along with women very well, I am having a little bit of difficulty trusting men. My Foster Dad is very good to me but I need more time to work on the trust issues I have with men--for some reason I am afraid of them and I just run and hide. I am also working on my barking. My Foster Mom says that I do have a little tiny bark, but I need to learn not to bark so much.

My Foster Parents let me sleep in bed with them where I cuddle up to my foster sisters and brother. Even though I basically stay to myself with my Foster Mom, I do try to interact with my foster sisters and brother by running with them in the backyard. The Vet told me that I need to get exercise so I can strengthen the muscles I haven't used in my four years.

I am looking for a "Forever Home" where I can get a lot of attention and where I can continue to learn. My ideal home would be with a stay at home mom or dad who can spend a lot of time with me and who is willing to let me learn at my own pace.

Punkin is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on preventative. She is located near Atlanta, Georgia.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Carol.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
