Pixie is a belge rough female Brussels Griffon who we think is around 5 years old. She weighs 8 lbs. and she is spayed. Pixie is up to date on vaccines.
Pixie came to National Brussels Griffon Rescue from another rescue. She was having problems with ear infections that had caused her ears to swell inside and close up. We have been working with a canine ear specialist who has been medicating Pixie’s ears. Initially we thought she would have to have surgery to correct this situation but now her ears are so much improved that we think she will have nearly normal ears within a couple of weeks. Pixie will always need to have hear ears monitored and probably cleaned twice a week – but the specialist feels that if she is cared for properly she will not need to have surgery.
Pixie is a very timid girl. She is now wagging her tail and approaching with caution to receive affection. Loud noises make Pixie jumpy. She loves the company of the other dogs in her foster home and took to Ursula – a new rescue arrival – like a sister – and they might make a good pair for anyone looking to adopt two dogs.
Pixie is pretty good on her housetraining – but we always expect a few mistakes when a dog changes homes.
Pixie is in Connecticut.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Vicki at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
