Meet Pepper!

Pepper a 12 pound, 10 month old spayed puppy who has had a shaky start in life. She was whelped April 8, 2003 and arrived at a pet shop less than nine weeks later. Due to careless handling she was dropped and broke a leg. She spent several weeks at the vets and was then returned to the pet shop. When her price finally dropped to under $400 she was adopted.

Because Pepper was taken away from her littermates and mother so very young, she never learned how to play nicely with other dogs. She plays much too rough with her owner's older Shih Tzus which is the reason she is looking for a new home. Her house breaking needs some work as she does submissive urinating and does cower when picked up.

On the plus side Pepper is cute, sweet, affectionate, crate trained and walks on a leash.

Pepper is located Mass.

If you would like more information, contact Vicki O'Neill. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.

March 2nd Update:

After further evaluation we have decided that Pepper needs to be in a home where she is the only dog. Pepper is also not good with cats..
