Meet Nellie!
This little Griffon was hit by a car Monday Sept. 24, 2007 in St Paul, MN. Little Nellie, 8 pounds, was seen limping down a highway and Christine Tufte witnessed her being clipped by another car as she tried to cross the road. Christine stopped her car and picked her limp body up off the road and took her to a vet. Her hind leg was badly broken in two places. Christine contacted us and we made arrangements with the vet to bring in an orthopedic surgeon to do
the surgery. There was a strong possibility the leg would have otherwise had to be amputated. The surgery was done today Sept 27th and her two breaks were successfully repaired. Christine will drive little Nellie to Jane Aynesworth in Duluth who will foster her for the next 8 weeks. Here's hoping for another Happy Ending.
Nellie's owners were located and they had only had her for two weeks. She had escaped from the house while they were out of town and had been missing for three days. Her owners could not afford the vet bills and they signed her over to us.
UPDATE!
After her eight weeks of healing, Nellie was adopted by her guardian angel, Christine Tufte, and is now living back in St. Paul. Another Happy Ending.
