Meet Muffin!

Hi there everybody,

My name is Muffin and I am a red rough female Brussels Griffon. I'm about 8 years old. My foster mom says I am really cute, and I will be beautiful when my hair grows out. My 83 year old dad, who was taking care of me after my mom died last year, just wasn't able to brush me so he had my hair cut. That was okay because it was easier for him, and it was summertime, and you know what summer in Kansas can be like. My dad was finally unable to take care of me the way he thought he should so he made the very hard decision to look for a loving home for me. I know he loved me very much and he wanted me to have the best, even though it made him very sad. All he wants when I find my forever family is a photograph every now and then.

I have been spayed and I weigh about 10 pounds. I should be about 8 pounds but I'm built for comfort and not for speed. I am in really good health, I am on monthly heartworm preventative, have had all my shots (including bordatella...whatever that is) and had my teeth cleaned so they are really shiny.

I'm kind of shy, but just love me and have patience and I will be a wonderful girl. I love to sleep on your bed and curl up on a pillow. I like other dogs and cats (I have five foster brothers), and I wander around with them, but I don't like to be rambunctious with them. They are all boys and you know how THEY are! I'm a delicate little lady. I am a young eight years old and I love to walk around the back yard and check it out. I walk on a leash, am housebroken, and absolutely adore rides in the car. One thing I hate......stairs! I am afraid of them and will not go down or up steep stairs. My mom has to carry me.....my little legs are pretty short.

Well, I guess that's about all for now. I am in Wichita, Kansas, and I sure hope that my new forever family reads this. My foster mom says I can just stay here until I find you. Contact my friend, Linda, whose email address you'll see below. She will talk to you and call my mom and me.

See you soon, I hope.

Tail wags, nose licks, woofs and doggie kisses from your friend,

Muffin the Griff

If you would like more information, contact Linda McKellar. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.

Muffin is located in Wichita, Kansas.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.

Muffin has been Adopted!

A note from Muffin's new Mom:

I am Karen who was lucky enough to be able to adopt Muffin. I wanted to thank the Brussels Griffon rescue for this pleasure. I live in Michigan and drove to Wichita Kansas to rescue this sweet little girl. And what a wonderful experience I had. First I talked to many on line that are involved with the rescue program. Everyone was encouraging and helpful in the adoption process. Second I had the pleasure of meeting Muffin's foster mother Sarah. What a wonderful compassionate woman she is. She will be a person that I hope to stay in contact with forever. We had a wonderful time together and she was most helpful in the transition for Muffin and me. She had papers and food and everything Muffin would need for our trip home...Although I have to admit I also had these things with me.

Sarah and I have been in contact since Muffin's adoption. I try and keep her updated on Muffin's progress in her new and happy home. Another couple that made a difference in mine and Muffin's life are Patty and Tom. They came to inspect and check out the home we could provide for Muffin. They too were wonderful. They had adopted a Afensenpincher (spelling questionable here) and I begged them to bring him. Hadn't ever met one in person. To say that they were also new friends is putting it mildly..They too will be people that I would love to keep in touch with. I also attempt to update them on Muffin.

Muffin and Sweetie, her Shih Tzu sister, and I share a water bed. Warm and comfy. We also are going to winter in Florida. Muffin likes traveling. Our first trip together was great.

I could go on and on but I'll stop here. I just had to put into writing how grateful I am for your group and the people that made this adoption possible. Muffin is adored in this home. I will love her forever.

Sincerely yours,
And with much love to you all too.......
Here is a current pic of a sweet little pork chop...lol
