Mikey is a 15 pound 3 year-old
red rough Griffon who is looking for a family that has a lot of time and patience
to spend with a shy and scared little boy. He is a very happy dog who just isnít
sure what to do around people because he was not kindly cared for or properly
socialized in the puppy mill he was rescued from. He has come a long way with
the help and understanding of his foster mom. He no longer runs away when looked
at, he allows her to pick him up and rub his ears and has even begun to come to
her on his own. Mikey is young, is learning to trust and in the right home he
should develop into a very loving and devoted companion.
Mikey gets along well with
other small dogs. His tail wags and wiggles all the time. He has been neutered,
is healthy and current on all vaccinations. He probably has not been exposed to
children and would do better in an adult household.
Mikey is being fostered in Wichita, Kansas. He will be a wonderful
addition to a family with the patience and dog sense to help him leave his past
behind and be the devoted, happy dog his basic temperament indicates.
If you would like more information,
contact Margie. If you are interested
in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.
Keep in mind that we prefer
to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone
from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to
fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
