I'd like to introduce Mickey, a handsome 11-month-old black and tan smooth Brussels Griffon. Mick did
not fit well in the family he was living with, through no fault of his own. He is very friendly, outgoing and happy. His tail never stops wagging. He is not shy or fearful, seems very well adjusted and sound both physically and mentally. Mickey is a big boy who will probably mature to around 20 lbs.
At the moment, Mickey is still quite puppyish. He is active and very playful. He attaches easily to people and stays quite close, but he is not a lap dog. He is very attentive and affectionate but would rather lie next to you with a paw or face touching, than in your lap. When stimulated, he's very busy and ready for fun. When napping, he's always quietly near-by. Because of his size and energy, Mick would probably enjoy long walks, and doing agility.
Mickey is crate-trained and partially housebroken. The latter is difficult because he always lived with a pet door, so has not had to learn good control. This should improve quickly, along with a tendency to mark, as soon as he is neutered. Mick gets along very well with adults, dogs and children. He should be a wonderful pet, and will be available for adoption as soon as he has been neutered. He is being fostered in Illinois.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.
Mickey is located in Illinois.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
