Meet Merlin!

Merlin is a very sweet, big smooth griffon, about 5 1/2 years old, and weighs about 18 pounds. He gets along with other dogs, even when they are being bratty to him. He is friendly to people also and wags his little tail when greeted. He is very biddable with people and tries to please. He likes being petted and loved on, is leash trained, neutered, and has all his shots.

When Merlin was put in a three foot exercise pen, he instantly leapt over it and followed his foster mom around the yard. He seems to be a fairly mellow fellow. He cannot go to a home with cats. He was accused of killing the household cat in the last home he was in. :-(

Merlin is being fostered in Cumming, GA.

If you would like more information, contact Margie Simon, 713-783-8887. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.

07-04-05 Update:

Merlin has turned out to be a sweet sweet companion. He gets along well with my other dogs. He loves to go on walks, go for car rides, and cuddle. He is a little nervous during thunder storms and wants to sit real close when it thunders. He did lift his leg in my house a few times at first but he had just been neutered and I did have girls in season. He hasn't done that lately.

Merlin is crate trained, will go in willingly for a treat, and settles down nicely. He is clean in a crate. Actually, he stays in a 4x4 pen when I am not home. He is a good bed buddy, gets in the bed, moves close, and doesn't make a peep all night. He loves to be petted and will paw at you when he wants attention. He is friendly with company, greets them madly wagging his tail. I do not have cats but I do have birds and he has not been agressive towards them. When I am on the computer in the bedroom, he curls up on the bed until I am done. If I am in the living room, he curls up either on the couch or in a doggie bed until I move. He likes to be close. He will be a good companion for someone who wants a faithful loving companion.
