Meet Miss Mattie!
(#2350)
Miss
Mattie is a little doll! She doesn’t just walk to get where she’s
going, she prances. When she’s in a happy mood her front paws
kind of kick out to opposite sides with each strut. We call Miss
Mattie our little princess because she’s so delicate, gracious
and proper. She has the sweetest disposition and is such a gentle
little lady.
Miss Mattie is a mature 11 month old. She is smart and minds well
for her young age. She still has a lot of puppy in her, too. We
love to watch her when she gets that burst of energy that puppies
get; she’ll dart around the room and back several times at high
speed, making sure that she body slams one of her foster brothers
each time she returns. Miss Mattie loves to play with her two
foster brothers and they take turns teaming up on each other.
I think Miss Mattie has a little mischievous streak in her, too!
She’ll certainly take advantage of too much freedom; whether it’s
jumping over the barrier on the back deck to chase a squirrel,
maneuvering her way on the chairs to get onto the dining table
or overturning the utility room trash can to dig for hidden treasure,
Miss Mattie is full of spunk!
Miss Mattie is familiar with her crate and will spend a couple
of daytime hours resting there comfortably. She also sleeps in
her crate at night and may wake up at some point wanting to get
into the master bed. You’ll love that because she’s a wonderful
snuggler!
Oh, by the way, Miss Mattie loves treats! She has learned that
when she does her business outside there’s always a treat waiting
for her. She’s doing fairly well on housebreaking but will need
lots of patience from her forever parents until she can get it
mastered completely.
Miss Mattie frightens easily. She’s very shy and timid and extremely
apprehensive around men. She is very submissive and needs to be
in a forever home that can allow her to continue to develop and
gain more confidence as she grows.
Whether playing with a toy, wrestling on the floor, snuggling
up to watch television, Miss Mattie always wants to be close to
her human pack leader. Miss Mattie will be the happiest in a forever
home where at least one of her parents is at home most of the
time. She’ll also need the companionship of another dog in the
household, too. Because Miss Mattie frightens so easily, it’s
not a good idea to have her around small children. She has been
known to growl and snap when she feels threatened.
Miss Mattie is going to make a wonderful family member in her
forever home! She is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations,
heart worm negative and is on preventative.
Miss Mattie is located near Dennison, Texas.
If you are
interested in adoption please fill out our adoption
application. If you would like more information, please contact
Beth.
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
