Lucy is an 11 month old female Brussels Griffon. She weighs about 13 lbs. Her owner brought her home about 7 months ago, but since then started working 70+ hours weekly and has very little or no time to spend with her. She is dearly loved, but she needs more. She loves children and cats.
Lucy lives in Gaithersburg, MD which is near the Bethesda and DC area. She was purchased from a private breeder in northern Virginia early this year. Her owner says, "Lucy has the sweetest temperment. She loves to travel. She is up to date on her shots. She is crate trained and does like her "home". When I am home, she is out and the crate door is left open for her to come and go as she pleases. She sleeps in her kennel the majority of the time, except when I have spent no time with her and I let her sleep with me. She is leash trained, but we are still working on refining it (she stays on the left, doesn't pull, is still learning "heel", and every now and then forgets to "sit" when I stop walking). She learns VERY quickly. She is house trained, but does make mistakes because I cannot keep her on any kind of walking schedule to take her out."
Lucy's owner also says, "Believe me, if ever I have the time for a dog in my life again, I could only hope they had half the heart, soul, and kindness of Lucy. She is the perfect dog, she just needs the perfect home."
Lucy is located in Gaithersburg, MD.
If you would like more information, contact Margie Simon . If you are interested in adoption please fill out
our Adoption Application.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.

An update from Lucy's new Mom!
Here's Lucy, we call her Goosey Loosey;-), in some rare quiet moments with Gremlin and my cat
Houdini. She also didn't mind dressing up a little for Halloween. She's a wonderful dog. She's learning that it's OK to sleep and she and Gremlin still have some "sharing" issues but she appears to feel very comfortable here. All's well that ends well. Thanks!.
