Meet Laddie!
Laddie is a 4 year-old rough coat Brussels Griffon who started his life in a breeding facility. He looks up at you with a face that reminds one of a Scottish old man, so his foster Mom talks to him in Scottish accents and refers to him as a “McGriffy”.
Laddie has a beautiful soft coat that doesn't mat. He weighs in about 13 pounds and is 90% house trained. He is a wonderful foster dog and his foster Mom doesn’t know how she’s going to be able to part with him. She is going to be very picky about who is allowed to adopt him.
He is quiet and very, very loving. He wants nothing more than to sleep on your lap, or cuddle up beside you in bed. He is afraid of children and anyone new, but he seems to warm up to adults sooner than children. He is still spooked by loud voices/noises or sudden movements. He only barks if he is startled or frightened (left alone). He goes completely limp when put on a leash and refuses to budge. His “need to potty” signal is waking up and jumping off the couch. You have to place him over a threshold as he usually just stops and waits to be picked up.
Laddie will require LOTS of attention and love, his former life deprived him of both and he is so anxious to fill that void. He should go to a quiet home where he is rarely left alone. He gets along with his foster Griffy siblings and doesn’t fight, but he will try to keep them back from his Mom’s lap on the couch. He hasn’t learned to play yet, but he’s learned to enjoy treats and chewies.
Laddie is the epitome of a lap dog – he’s not just a Velcro dog – he’s a Super Glue dog!
Laddie is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heart worm negative and is on preventative. He is located near Kansas City, MO.
If you are
interested in adoption please fill out our adoption
application. If you would like more information, please contact
Flo.
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
