Meet Khaki & Kirby!
(#2783 and #2784)
Khaki and Kirby are a precious mother and daugther pair who were dumped in the country, along with two other Griffs, to fend for themselves. Thankfully, they were spotted by a guardian angel before they succumed to the coyotes, cars, or in time, starvation.
One thing is for sure: These two girls are bonded and always stay close to each other. Where one goes, the other follows. They play and frolic together, and when it is time to rest, you can bet their little bodies will be touching.
We don’t know how they were treated in the past; both girls are a little shy and timid, but they become very animated when they get attention and are fussed over. They frighten easily at loud noises or quick movements and will scamper away to take cover. With time and patience, they will be taught that all is not bad in the world. They are already making great progress.
The girls are working on house training and leash training. They sleep quietly in their crates at night and greet you with wagging tails in the morning. Both are starting to pass out puppy kisses, and they love being petted. They get along well with their foster brothers and sisters.
Kirby is discovering toys, something she has probably never seen before. Both find comfort curling up next to you or on you.
Khaki is approximately 3 years old and weighs 9 lb. Kirby is approximately a 1 year old and weighs 8 lb. Both need to add a little weight to their tiny frames.
Khaki and Kirby are spayed, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. Now all they need is a forever family who will show them how wonderful it is to be loved and adored – not treated like trash to be dumped on the side of the road.
These girls will do better in an adult only home. Please no small children.
Khaki & Kirby are located in Houston, TX.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Connie at conniel@andell.com.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
