Meet Jules!
Jules
was born on 11-23-01 and is just 6 years old. Jules was in rescue
previously and had been placed but when her family had a new baby
they gave her up to rescue again. She has just been groomed but
we are showing you her before and after pictures – what a cutie
she is!
We do believe
Jules has been misnamed and should be Jewels! She is certainly
a gem! She has not had any accidents in the house, minds well,
sits to have her leash on or off, sits for treats, and sits to
be served her food. She is not a big barker, but when she does
hear something outside, she always stops barking when asked. She
asks permission before getting on the couch and is sleeping all
night in the crate with another dog. Jules has a charming personality,
pawing at your arm or hand for more scratches when you stop, and
doing a little dance when you scratch at the base of her tail.
She is so happy that her whole body wags when she wags her tail,
and she cocks her head to one side when you talk to her. She is
affectionate and well mannered.
Jules is a
little overweight at 13 ˝ pounds, but we are trying to help her
with that. She is a little shy around newcomers, but with a little
kindness, patience, and cheese (which she loves), she comes around
quite quickly. She travels well in a crate in the car. We were
told by her former owner that she is afraid of new men – but we
have not seen her exhibit that behavior -- just a general shyness
around all strangers, and certainly no aggression.
Jules will
play with a toy, and she has started to interact with other dogs,
play, and zoom. We have been told that Jules has separation anxiety
and needs to be with another dog. As her foster mom has several
other griffs – we haven’t seen that behavior yet – however we
are looking for a home with at least one other small dog to keep
her company.
Jules is spayed
and current on vaccines. She is heartworm negative and takes heartworm
preventative.
Jules really
needs to find her forever home this time. She needs patience and
love and will reward her new owner with affection in return. Jules
is being fostered in Arkansas.
If you are
interested in adoption please fill out our adoption
application. If you would like more information, please contact
Vicki.
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
