Meet Harris!

Sept. 9, 2003, National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. was contacted by Harris County Rabies/Animal Control in Houston, Texas to help save a small dog they thought to be a Griffon. He was picked up as a stray, in serious need of grooming to say nothing of his horrific odor. His time was up at Rabies Control and they had no foster home for him.

Harris in the Shelter

Under all those mats was what we could call an"Exotic Griffon Want-to-be." Adorable, loveable friendly and looking for the perfect forever home.

After visiting the Vet

Janell and Mark Copas responded immediately and arranged his release. They drove Harris to our vet for shots de-matting and dipping. A half hour later his seven pound body looked like it had been run over with a dull lawnmower and the smell from the dip was breathtaking. But he was clean, de-flead, heartworm negative and totally exhausted.

After bringing him to my house for pictures, Winona took him home for rehab where he fit right in with all her Griffons.

Today October 17 Harris is ready for adoption. He is just a pup about six months old. Crate trained, lap trained, house trained and neutered. Winona treated him to his new doo by the best Griffon Groomer in Houston.

Harris is located in Texas. If you would like more information, contact Margie Simon. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
