Meet Griffy!

Note: This dog is not in our program.
This is a courtesy listing only, to assist in finding him/her a home.

Meet Griffy, a purebred male Brussels Griffon. Griffons are a very rare breed of dog, and even rarer to find in rescue. This little guy was a breeding male in a puppymill until his recent rescue. I have posted his pre and post grooming pictures.

Although he is a rare breed, Griffy is a typical adult puppymill dog, in that he has no idea what life is like in a home with loving human hands. He hasn't a clue what stairs, carpet, furniture and toys are all about, and is totally in awe of cats, refrigerators and trees! He learns more and more every day and, with the help of the pugs, he now understands that the potty spot is outside. He is still shy about people and that is coming along slowly. He will allow you to pet him, but doesn't seem to understand what you are doing. He watches the pugs lapping up attention, hugs and kisses, so I'm sure it won't take him long to be right in there demanding his!

Griffy loves dogs and cats, and should be in a home with furry companions. He has not been around children yet, but I am certain that he would remain standoffish if he was. He shows no aggression whatsoever, and tolerates being brushed and having his ears cleaned. He is a good eater who isn't picky, so he will fill out well quickly.

Griffy is with Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue Inc. in Alden, NY. If you are interested in helping this little guy discover the joys of companion doghood, please fill out their Online Application and email them at kat@buffalopugs.org.

Please note: the adopter must be within a 2 hr. drive of Alden, New York.
