Meet Diojii!

Diojii is very sweet, shy at first but generally an outgoing Brussels Griffon. He loves people, is affectionate and will be consistently near his person. He follows you, loves you and is just charming. He loves to play with the other dogs and will run and run outside and sometimes inside too. He is a very happy boy that is full of life. You will smile with him around. Just looking at his teddy bear face will warm your heart.

Now for his other habits . . . He loves to chew! He will chew papers, shoes, carpet and wood; just about anything that is left lying around is fair game. Sometimes though, he will chew on the chew toys that he is supposed to chew on! He is not completely housebroken. But he is a great learner and it seems as though he is making progress quickly. If left in a crate that is larger, he will toilet in it. He does well in the kennel that is just large enough to stand in and turn around in. He is learning to enter the crate on the ďkennel upĒ command and he even goes in on his own.

Diojii does come when called most of the time. He is doing well on the leash overall. He is afraid sometimes. Iím not sure how to explain, but if you know dogs you will understand. Scissors near him scares him. Combs scare him and he has nipped at the comb near his face. When he is really terrified, he may bite, which Iím told he has done one time. But as long as he feels safe and trusts, Iím almost certain he will not bite. He has not bitten anyone since he has been here. He is wary of men, some more than others, but I think with time and patience he will be better. He has these insecurities as he is from a puppy mill and has not had the life he so deserves.

Diojii will get in the garbage if it is left out and whatever is in the garbage will be OUT! He is so sweet though; one can almost overlook the bad behavior. Well not really, but the good thing is, he seems to learn quickly.

He has learned how to jump on the couch and he did also learn to jump up on people when he greets. He gives little kisses and wags his tail as he learns he can trust.

Diojii is submissive and gets along well with other dogs. He gets along with cats and he is even submissive to the cats. However, he has shown some food aggression but nothing to the point that time and patience canít train out of him. Again, he is from a puppy mill so one can understand his faults.

Diojii is 2 years old, neutered and UTD on shots and heartworm preventative. He has had dental care (teeth cleaning) but, well, the overbite canít be helped. It is part of what makes him so cute Ė always smiling. And he does know how to smile when he looks up at you so warmly and wags that little tail. It is precious. Diojii is located in Pensacola, Florida.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Lisa.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
