From the Foster:

Chewbecca is peppy and happy, always ready to play fetch and chew on a favorite toy. We're working on house-breaking, but she's not fully there yet. She does seem to be ''getting it,'' however. We prevent her from free range up or downstairs yet, this seems to prevent her from accidents. We also reward her with treats and praise when she does ''go'' outside.

Her crate-training is coming along well. She will enter willingly now. (I just throw a few tiny treats in to coax her.) She will bark at first, but settles in after a bit. She does well for about 6 hrs. without incident.

She is dog-friendly. Loves to meet and make new friends. I don't know how she is with cats or with very young children. She does tend to show dominance toward our 6-year-old. I over-see their interaction. But she is not aggressive! No real biting, but chasing and puppy-mouthing. Still, I do not trust this tendency unsupervised.

She has a high energy level, as she is still a yearling. It is best for her to have daily physical outlet for this. Also, be sure she has her chew toys and a soft blankie in her crate. She will squirrel away her toys!

She is very intelligent and sweet. Work with her patiently and she will reward you with a house full of joy!

Chewbecca is with Secondhand Hounds in Edina, MN. All their dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out their adoption application on their website. For more information, please email them at SHHAdoptions@gmail.com.
