Chester, a 3.5 year old red rough boy is in need of a new home. He was purchased as a puppy by a man who loved him but his wife did not. When the man died a year ago, Chester was sent to live with the man's daughter and her children. Over the course of the past year Chester forgot his house training and became terrified of thunderstorms and big dogs.
We were able to take Chester and transfer him quickly to a wonderful foster home. He blossomed immediately. He regained his house manners and confidence and made friends, both human and canine. After only a few days, his foster mom reported:
“We are all doing wonderfully. Not only is Chester not afraid of large dogs (newest friend is a standard poodle) but he slept through a storm in my husband's lap.”
Chester will have to be neutered, and gain a little more confidence and security before he is ready for his permanent placement. However he continues to make great progress and it does seem that the behavior problems that led to his placement were reactive and do not present themselves in a nurturing environment.
Chester is being fostered in Wisconsin.
If you would like more information,
contact Bethann Lane. If you are interested
in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.
Keep in mind that we prefer
to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone
from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to
fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
