Buster is a
darling little Griffon who wants nothing more than to be with his special person
24-7. Unless it is to run full-speed around his fenced yard. He also loves water
and toys. He is a lively little guy, 3.5 years old, about 11 lbs, housetrained,
neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention.
a special home where someone will understand how to handle his baggage from two
previous homes that were less-than-ideal for his needs and temperament. Although
he has not bitten anyone to our knowledge, he does snap in warning when he is
scared or unsure. In fact, he was surrendered to Rescue because he snapped at
his owner's 2 1/2 year-old grandson. He reacts at times with fear-aggresion toward
other dogs until he is very sure they mean him no harm. He also suffers from separation
anxiety. All of these traits make Buster, at present, somewhat unpredictable.
He has made huge strides in all these areas since he has been in a very good foster
home, but he will need an adoptive home with a new owner who is understanding
do best in a home with a fenced yard, no children, and a fairly full-time *mom*.
He would not be a good choice for the first-time dog owner. In the right situation
he will be a devoted, amusing, and delightful companion.
Buster is located in a foster
home in central Illinois.
If you would like more information,
contact Bethann Lane. If you are interested
in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application.
Keep in mind that we prefer
to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone
from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to
fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
