Meet Bugsy!
Bugsy
is a sweet, happy 12 lb., 4-year-old black rough coat boy, and
he is looking for his new forever home. He was very much loved
by his first family, and it shows in his personality! He is very
gentle and loves everyone, including children and other dogs.
Bugsy
walks well on a leash, comes running when called and loves to
snuggle with his family on the sofa and in bed (but he does snore
a little!). He loves walks as well as car rides and becomes very
excited when he sees his harness and leash! He is a bit of a "couch-potato",
but he likes to play every day too. He will tell you when he thinks
it’s playtime! The sounds he makes are very soft and it almost
seems like he’s trying to talk! Bugsy also enjoys being told he
is a good boy and will walk on his back legs for a treat.
Bugsy
is working diligently on his house training skills and wears a
belly band while in the house. He doesn’t mind this at all and
it is very easy to remove and put back on.
Bugsy
is HW negative, neutered and UTD on all his shots. He had crystals
in his urine, but a simple no-grain diet cleared that up within
a few days. When he first came to us, he had 2 short and very
mild seizures. A complete blood work up was done and no apparent
cause was found. His previous family said that he never had seizures
while he lived with them, which leads us to believe that they
will not reoccur. It has been over 2 weeks now and he is seizure
free!
Bugsy is being
fostered in northern Illinois.
If you would
like more information, contact Beth.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our adoption
application.
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.
