Meet Ava!
(#2688)
Sweet Ava was found wandering around East Texas when she was picked up by animal control and referred to our rescue. At the time, she was still lactating from giving birth so we assume she had escaped from a puppy mill breeder. At the beginning, Ava was extremely frightened and shy, but thanks to a wonderful foster home who called in an animal trainer to help, she has blossomed into the wonderful pet.
We believe Ava to be about 2 years old. She is about 20 pounds of happiness, especially if treated very gently and lovingly. She loves her foster brothers and sisters and zooming around the back yard at top speed with another dog is her favorite form of exercise. She is potty, leash and crate trained.
We hope to place Ava in a home where there is someone around most of the time and another dog to play with. Because she can be frightened easily, it would be best for her not to be in a home with children. Her foster mom adores her and says that looking into Ava’s eyes is a joy in itself.
Here is a cute video of Ava playing with Mo who just came into our program.

Ava is spayed and UTD on her vaccinations. Are you that perfect home for this darling girl?
Ava is being lovingly fostered in Austin, TX.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Connie at conniel@andell.com.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
