Meet Alf and Winston!
Alf is a 12 year-old black rough Griff and Winston is an 11 year old red rough Griff, who are owner turn-ins from the same family. They are very attached to each other, and they hope someone will adopt them together. They still have a lot of years left to love their very own forever family.
Alf and Winston are both housetrained and never have accidents in the house. Winston will go sit by the door and if you don't notice him, he will start pacing to get your attention. Alf usually doesn's ask to go outside, but always goes out with Winston. Winston enjoys being outside and loves to bark at the cats and watch the area for anything that moves. Alf just does his business and is ready to come right back into the house.
Both of them are good with children. Winston really likes his foster mom's 10 year old grandson, and is always so excited to see him. Winston seems to prefer men. Alf prefers women and loves his foster mom's 3 year-old granddaughter.
They will walk on leashes, but Alf needs some work on pulling and needs to wear a harness rather than a collar as he will cough and then turn around and pull out of the collar. He doesn't run off if that happens, but just goes sniffing around at his foster mom's feet.
Winston knows how to sit and high five, and Alf will sit if someone is holding something that he wants really bad! They both sleep in the bedroom with their foster mom - Alf sleeps in an open crate with a plush dog bed inside, and Winston usually sleeps under the bed. They do like to sleep on top of the bed, too.
Alf and Winston are sensitive Griffs, and if voices are raised loudly around them, they think they have been naughty and that you are upset with them. They will go into the bedroom and hide for awhile. When Alf and Winston first arrived, their foster mom thought Alf was the most sensitive, but after them living with her for awhile, she feels like Winston is most sensitive, but with love and attention, he will thrive.
Alf and Winston are neutered, up to date on their vacinnations, microchipped and on heartworm preventative. They are located near Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Vicki.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
